Love Hurts. Love Songs #1: COOL OFF by Yeng Constantino

Cool Off by Yeng Constantino

Wag ka munang magalit

Ako sana’y pakinggan

Di ko balak ang ika’y saktan

Hindi ikaw ang problema

Wala akong iba

Di tulad ng iyong hinala

Sarili ay di maintindihan

Hindi ko malaman, ano ba ang dahilan

Ng pansatamantalang paghingi ko ng kalayaan

Minamahal kita, pero kelangan ko lang mag-isa

[Chorus]

[Repeat Chorus]

Sarili ay di maintindihan

Hindi ko malaman, ano ba ang dahilan

Ng pansatamantalang paghingi ko ng kalayaan

Minamahal kita, pero kelangan ko lang mag-isa

[Repeat Chorus]

Sometimes, we just need to give ourselves some space. Some time to think about the things bothering in our minds. Relationships sucks. It’s causing us too much pain and suffering. It causes broken hearts, damaged souls, and awkward situations. It damages our inner goddess and affects how we socially interact. Love hurts and relationship wrecks.

When you’re committed in a romantic relationship, you’re expected to compromise with your partner. You’d do what he/she does. Eat what he/she wants to eat. Go where he/she will take you. You’ll trust, obey, and be so damn foolish.Though you’ve set yourself into a limit, you’ll find yourself doing the things beyond it. You’d probably step into the line, without thinking that you’re deprived of your freedom. You could be deprived of making your own decisions. Sigh! All these negativity just make me stay on the corner, cry, and feel all alone.

You’ll be amazed on how music paved the way in communicating our feelings. There are times that you just need to hear a song and feel better afterwards. If you don’t find the right words to say, there’s a specific song you’ll just sing.

Yeng’s Cool Off paved the way to reach the feelings that I want to be clarified. It’s not really because I want to stop the relationship, but I just want to have some time and space to think about stuff. I know my priorities changed. My desire changed. My expectation changed. This is not about anyone else. I don’t have somebody else to have him “replaced”. I don’t want him replaced in the first place. I just want to be the same me – carefree, fun, and lovable. I feel like I’m already disoriented. I’m so lost.

Nobody can understand our situation now. We’re ok. We feel there’s nothing wrong between us. But I know there’s something I should fix. My mind setting probably. I need to face my fear, not by leaving him alone, but making myself a better person.

xoxo
